Strip Steak with Provolone Sauce

Description

Strip steak rubed in my own californian spice rub, grilled topped with a rich provolone cheese sauce, drizzled with homemade steak sauce and sided with caramelized onions. Yum!

This dish turned out so great and was not really hard. If you have the time to do all the prep before hand then you are golden. As a extra side i also made steak fries from scratch with a spicy roasted red pepper mayonnaise to dip it in.

Oh man, looking at this post-surgery (and unable to eat solids for a week, you can imagine I’m feeling starved) this dish looks pretty damn good. It’s a little hard to say based off this photo if the steak was on the super rare side or not, but from what I can see it does appear a bit more red than how I would prefer it, and I love my steaks rare so that should say something. I’d only be afraid to bite into it because It would seem a bit cold in the middle but, I don’t know because photos make it hard to taste things.
The parmesan sauce seems like a good touch to caramelized onion and steak sauce, a good combo nonetheless. However, I’d say maybe it’s a bit much on the parmesan sauce? Like the steak-to-sauce ratio could have been plated a little better. It reminds me of a soup with steak in it? If the steak had been cooked more, then I would see the need for added moisture (or in this case, the extra cheese sauce).

Perhaps the photo made it difficult to really judge this food, despite that I couldn't taste it anyhow. For a reliable judgement to be made by a photo and a description, often times the *way the photo is taken* can make a huge impact on that judgement. It does look incredibly appealing though to say the least! I want it, hahaha~

I haven't really heard of a cheese sauce (specially Parmesan) with a nice steak recipe, and to that I definitely give you kudos!! I mean honestly, you can never go wrong with any cheese sauce~ Steak is a tough thing to eat most of the time, so providing a nice moisture to the side, and with complimentary flavor, really helps pull the plate together.

Technique: <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="17" height="16" alt=":star:" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="450" title="Star!"/><img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="17" height="16" alt=":star:" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="450" title="Star!"/><img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="17" height="16" alt=":star:" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="450" title="Star!"/><img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="17" height="16" alt=":star:" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="450" title="Star!"/><img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="17" height="16" alt=":star-half:" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="452" title="Half Star"/>
From what I can see here it seems that you have plenty of skill when it comes to the creativity and the complexion of your dishes, you keep in mind all the necessary factors that make a dish like this really balance out where it needs to. Not many people have technique, I think you really made this work! (If only I could taste it.)

While the over all idea of the dish and its execution appear pretty awesome, unfortunately the photo quality did affect my overall judgement of the dish. I kinda wish the lighting was just a little better, and that the focus of the camera went straight to the dish and its contents. They say you eat with your eyes first, and boy do I LOVE doing that. I really wanted to eat this meal with my eyes, but it was hard to make out the visual flavors because the room appears to be a little dark, or maybe the flash just wasn't on, or the focus needed to be slightly adjusted.

I hope this has helped you!!

Also please email me this dish right away so I can eat the crap out of it.
